Residents invited to give feedback on RM 620/Anderson Mill Road project

TxDOT is inviting residents to provide feedback on the RM 620 at Anderson Mill Road project, a $38 million project that is part of the larger RM 620 expansion.

An in-person public hearing will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. May 18 in the Noel Grisham Middle School cafeteria, 10805 School House Lane, Austin. According to TxDOT representatives, attendees will be able to view a presentation, receive hard copies of project materials, ask questions of project staff or consultants, leave written comments and provide verbal testimony to a court reporter.

Per TxDOT, verbal and written comments must be received or postmarked on or before June 2 and will be considered as part of the official record. Comments may be submitted by:

A virtual public hearing will also be posted at 5:30 p.m. May 18 and be available for viewing until 11:59 p.m. June 2. Residents can go to www.txdot.gov and search “620 Anderson Mill” to view a prerecorded presentation along with other project materials.

As previously reported by Community Impact, the 1.2-mile-long proposed road project would include:

• Overpasses that would function as bypass lanes in each direction through the Anderson Mill Road and El Salido Parkway intersections, plus the addition of turnarounds at these intersections
• An additional right-turn lane from northbound RM 620 to eastbound Anderson Mill Road
• Shared-use paths for bicyclists and pedestrians

TxDOT has also outlined that parts of the project would occur over the Edwards Aquifer Recharge zone and, subject to final design considerations, potentially displace 25 nonresidential structures.
