Leander ZIP code sees median home prices, days on market increase

Median home sales prices in Leander ZIP code 78641 increased by nearly $44,000, or 9.38%, year over year in August, according to recently released data by the Austin Board of Realtors and Unlock MLS.

This comes as Liberty Hill ZIP code 78642 and Cedar Park ZIP code 78613 saw year-over-year fluctuations in median home sales prices of less than 1%. Meanwhile, far Northwest Austin ZIP codes saw year-over-year-percent changes of -4% to more than 21% in August.

Across the area, ZIP code 78726 saw the biggest increase in median home sales prices, with them rising by $133,000 from last August to this August.

More homes sold in the $300,000-$499,000 price range than any of the following price brackets.

The number of homes sold year over year in August increased in three area ZIP codes and declined in the other four.

Although it saw a year-over-year decline, the most homes sold in August in Leander ZIP code 78641, while far Northwest Austin ZIP code 78726 had the fewest, despite seeing a year-over-year increase.

Similarly, the year-over-year change in the average number of days a home spent on the market in August varied throughout the region.

Homes sold the fastest in far Northwest Austin ZIP code 78717—spending an average of three weeks on the market—and the slowest in Leander ZIP code 78641—with them spending an average of about three months on the market.
