Unreined Whiskey, dubbed the official whiskey of Texas A&M Athletics, celebrated the grand opening of its new visitor center and rickhouse Aug. 8 at WildHorse Ranch in College Station.
What’s happening
Founded by a group of Aggies and longtime whiskey-makers, the company ages and blends whiskey in Texas and recently opened its four-story, 30,000-square-foot facility to the public.
The rickhouse, where whiskey barrels are stored and aged, sits on the 600-acre WildHorse Ranch, according to a news release by PR Newswire.
What Unreined offers
Visitors can take guided tours, participate in tastings and enjoy cocktails and food at WildHorse Ranch. The tour lasts about an hour and includes a look at the ranch and rickhouse followed by a guided whiskey tasting.

Unreined also debuted its Unreined Wheated Bourbon alongside the opening. The bourbon is aged seven years and blends Texas and Kentucky whiskeys, bottled at 104.2 proof, according to Unreined.
The history
Unreined was founded by Texas A&M graduate Nelson Ingram ’13 and a team of other Aggie whiskey enthusiasts joined. PR Newswire reported the other Aggie team members include, Rob Arnold ’21, Drew Carden ’10, Cory Hall ’13, Kevin Smith ’11, Ryan Howard ’14 and Kyle Bethancourt ’00.
The brand was named the official whiskey of Texas A&M Athletics in November 2025 and is available at Texas A&M events where spirits are served.

In addition to grabbing a bottle following the full rickhouse experience, Unreined products are also sold at Spec’s and Total Wine.
The visitor center is open from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays.
