Bastrop, Lee County residents invited to household hazardous waste cleanup

The Bastrop County Household Hazardous Waste Facility is hosting a household hazardous waste collection event March 16. Lee and Bastrop County residents are eligible to participate.

Vouchers are required for waste drop-off. Residents can pick up vouchers at the following locations:

• Bastrop County Development Services office at 211 Jackson St., Bastrop
• Smithville City Hall
• Lee County Annex, 898 E Richmond, Room 107, Giddings

Proof of county residency with a utility bill or drivers license will be required.

Accepted household hazardous waste include:

• Aerosol paint cans
• Batteries
• Degreasers
• Drain cleaners
• Herbicides and pesticides
• Polishers
• Pool chemicals
• Stains
• Vehicle batteries
