Approximately 7.1% of Bastrop County’s registered voters have cast a vote for party nominees for races that could shape local leadership, as the second week of early voting for the March 3 primary election began Feb. 23.
As of Feb. 22, there were 4,410 voters—2,127 Democratic and 2,283 Republican—in week one, according to the Bastrop County Elections Department.

Although Bastrop County voters are seeing more than 10 local positions on their ballots, the Republican primary for county judge and the Republican primary for district clerk are the only contested races, according to the Texas Secretary of State website.
