Portions of the Bastrop Bark Park will temporarily close Sept. 1-2 as city officials continue planned improvements.
What's happening?
Bastrop Parks & Recreation staff said the closures will allow them to treat the area for khaki burr using a nontoxic solution made with vinegar, orange oil and liquid dish soap.
"We’re working to make the Bark Park a little more comfortable for paws," officials said.
What you need to know
The small dog area will be closed Sept. 1 starting at 7:30 a.m. and will reopen Sept. 2, while the large dog area will be closed Sept. 2 at 7:30 a.m. and will reopen Sept. 3.
Zooming out
City crews kicked off the work with new solar lights earlier this month—the first of several projects that will also include new water stations, a wash station, agility equipment and signage.
The timeline
Officials said work is expected to be completed by mid-September.
