From a family-run Tex-Mex restaurant to a Brazilian steakhouse experience, Bastrop is having a moment in this week's roundup, while Leander and Georgetown bring their own flavors to the table, including a local favorite cafe expansion into a new entertainment district.
This restaurant is serving Tex-Mex dishes in Bastrop with a mission rooted in family legacy. The DeLeon family carries on the legacy of Tex-Mex food truck owner Yolanda “Yoli” DeLeon and her love for food, family and community. Amadeo "Bosshogg" DeLeon III and his team continue the family’s restaurant legacy with Tex-Mex dishes, including birria tacos, brisket, burritos, enchiladas, fajitas and quesadillas.
This steakhouse is now serving an authentic Brazilian rodízio, or all-you-can-eat, experience featuring large cuts of meat seasoned with coarse salt, cooked over an open flame on metal skewers and served tableside. Owner Robinson Figueiredo said reservations are encouraged and can be booked on OpenTable.

This fast-casual franchise is now serving breakfast and lunch at its first location in Bastrop. Menu options include baked goods such as bagels, cinnamon rolls, cookies and muffins; breakfast and lunch sandwiches; hot and iced coffees; and more. The Bastrop spot is open daily 6 a.m.-2 p.m.
According to a TDLR filing, Bastrop residents will soon have a new option for bubble tea and other specialty tea drinks as Kung Fu Tea plans to open its first shop in the area. The franchise is known for freshly brewed, customizable milk teas, including a signature drink made with Earl Grey tea, cane sugar and milk powder. Other options include fruit teas, lemonades, slushes and more. The shop offers a signature brown sugar-cooked boba and its menu includes vegan, dairy-free and nut-free options.
Utah-based brand Crave is setting up shop in Leander this May, said owner Arun Serikar. The new location will mark the company’s first Austin-area venture, offering loaded sodas with syrups, creams and fruit add-ons, as well as a range of rotating cookie flavors. Drinks include the Coconut Crave, which is a Diet Coke mix with fresh lime and coconut syrup. Signature cookie offerings include Nutella sea salt, snickerdoodle and chocolate chip.
Rachel Cummins has been baking from scratch since she was 4 years old. Now, a decade after opening Sweet Lemon Kitchen in downtown Georgetown, she's taking the brand to a new entertainment destination.Rachel Cummins, owner of Sweet Lemon Kitchen, outside the original cafe location at 812 S. Located at 812 S. Church St., Sweet Lemon Kitchen has been a fixture of downtown Georgetown since Cummins converted the historic home into an inn in 2014 and then a breakfast-and-lunch cafe in 2016, she said. Cummins added dinner service in 2020, and opened grab-and-go cafe The Little Lemon at the Library in 2022.
This summer, Cummins is bringing another Little Lemon to The Junction, a 60,000-square-foot entertainment and dining complex under construction at 210 Blue Springs Blvd.
"We don't want to be in a shopping center—we want to be part of a community," Cummins said. "That's what Sweet Lemon is about."Sweet Lemon Kitchen’s menu includes housemade pastries, fresh salads, sandwiches and seasonal dishes. (Jessica McLaren/Community Impact)On the menu
The menu—built around organic, locally sourced ingredients and housemade pastries—includes breakfast and lunch staples like cinnamon rolls, kolaches, scones and quiches alongside sandwiches such as the turkey club croissant and Venezuelan street-style pepito sandwich invented by chef Darwer Ozuna.
Dinner features family favorites including Mediterranean salmon, beef bourguignon and chicken pot pie, along with starters, such as baked Brie and queso compuesto.
Specialty drinks include a signature cream latte and the Sweet Lemon Shandy, a house lemonade and Rentsch hefeweizen blend.
