Construction crews will work on the northbound MoPac express lane this weekend to complete roadway striping and to install express lane posts. Much of the work will occur at night, but a moving left lane closure is expected on Saturday and, if necessary, on Sunday.

The left-lane closure will occur between 35th Street and RM 2222. Overnight lane and ramp closures will occur from 9 p.m. Friday until 8 a.m. on Saturday and from 10 p.m. Saturday until 10 a.m. on Sunday.

Other lane closures are planned for Sunday. Closures are dependent on weather conditions and updates are available at www.mopacexpress.com.

In an effort to open the entire northbound MoPac express toll lane Sept. 30, the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority will close one lane during the day Sept. 28-29.

The left lane will be closed from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday and Friday between 35th Street and RM 2222. The closure will allow crews to finish striping the pavement and adding delineator sticks between the toll lane and main lanes.

The agency expects the closures to affect traffic and is encouraging drivers to plan ahead. Closures will also only occur during suitable weather conditions.

Opening the southbound toll lane will not occur for another few weeks.
