The Austin Transportation Department installed safety upgrades to the 500 block of East Slaughter Lane in October, closing the median break between two apartment complex driveways at 516 and 515 E. Slaughter Lane. Delineators were installed to prevent left turns out of the complexes, The Ridge condominiums and Still Waters apartments. The transportation department said in a press release the changes should “reduce conflict points between eastbound and westbound traffic on East Slaughter Lane.”

These changes come ahead of the Austin Corridor Program Office’s projected plans to make a range of safety improvements to the East Slaughter Lane Corridor as part of the Corridor Construction Program between 2021 and 2024. The project is currently in the design phase.
