Storytime Art-Soup!
This weekly gathering for children ages 3-5 incorporates reading with art and often includes surprises, such as songs, poems and coloring. This Friday's theme is soup—kids will read about soup, learn about the ABCs and paint a soup bowl. Cost is $12 per child or $60 for a six-class punch card. Six Square hosts this community art project to commemorate the African-American baseball history at Downs Field.[/caption]Downs Field Community Engagement Mural Project
Take part in this community art project, led by visiting Houston-based artist Reginald Adams, slated for installation at the historic Downs Field, Austin's historic Negro baseball league field. Organized by Six Square, Austin's black cultural district, in partnership with the city of Austin, the Austin Sports Foundation and the Austin Parks Foundation, the event will allow community members the opportunity to produce some of the glass mosaic tile work that will comprise the portrait of the late Willie Wells, an African-American baseball player.

All proceeds from Articulture Design's clothing swap this Sunday will benefit Austin's Dress for Success.[/caption]Clothing Swap!
Support Dress for Success this weekend with Articulture Designs' clothing and accessories swap, where participants can donate lightly used, high-quality clothes and take home as many items as they donated in return. Ripped, stained or undesirable items will not be accepted. Any leftover clothes will be donated to Austin's Dress for Success, and any items Dress for Success cannot use will be donated to Goodwill. Wine and light snacks will be provided. Suggested donation of $5 (cash only); 100 percent of funds will be donated to Dress for Success.
