Meetings with City Council members about the CodeNEXT rewrite, AISD trustee Saldaña's last day and more things to know this week, April 24-28

Today marks the final day of trustee Paul Saldaña's tenure as the Austin ISD representative for District 6. The board will decide how to fill his position at tonight's meeting. Saldaña resigned with 16 months left in his term earlier this month, citing a desire to spend more time with his family.
- An Orangetheory Fitness is coming to Sunset Valley in May. The gym provides heart rate-based interval training through 60-minute workout sessions broken into intervals of cardiovascular and strength training. Marketing representatives from the company also confirmed that a Circle C location was pending, but they did not have any details about the opening date.
- The first draft of Austin's land development code rewrite, also known as CodeNEXT, was released last week. Find out when each Southwest Austin City Council member will visit his or her district to discuss the rewrite here.
- U.S. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-California, and U.S. Rep. Lloyd Doggett, D-Austin, whose district spans a swath of Southwest Austin, were in Austin last week to tour the new teaching hospital and gather insight on the Affordable Care Act and its effect on Austin from local community leaders.
