The board of aldermen for the village of San Leanna unanimously approved the budget and tax rate for the 2016-17 fiscal year on Thursday, keeping the budget size and tax rate in line with the past 20 years.

Village Administrator Suzanne Hallam said the budget for FY 2016-17, which starts Oct. 1, will be $166,353 and the tax rate for the fiscal year will be $0.2489 per $100 of taxable property valuation.

For FY 2015-16, the board approved a $180,613 transfer from the village's savings account to pay for Circle Drive road improvements, increasing the budget to $378,077. The board may soon approve another transfer from reserve funds for FY 2016-17 at a future meeting to pay for more infrastructure repairs, Hallam said.
