A street rehabilitation project is underway on Southwest Parkway, and paired with a mill and overlay project, there will be construction on the roadway for the next three months, according to Austin Public Works.
According to a news release by the department, work on the rehabilitation project began Nov. 9 and will take place on the roadway between Mission Oaks Boulevard and William Cannon Drive. Southwest Parkway’s base layer and surface will be replaced through the project, and if funded through the city’s 2018 bond, according to the department.
Mill and overlay work—which creates a smoother driving surface—is taking place from William Cannon west to the Amarra Trail intersection. The project also began Nov. 9 and could take three weeks to accomplish, according to the news release.
The projects could result in temporary lane closures on both the eastbound and westbound side of the roadway, according to Austin Public Works.
