The average days spent on the market for Southwest Austin and Dripping Springs homes increased in October 2024 compared to October 2023 in all but one of the market’s eight ZIP codes, according to data from the Austin Board of Realtors.

This is similar to last month's data, in which the average days spent on the market significantly increased in September 2024 compared to September 2023 in all but three of the market’s ZIP codes, as previously reported by Community Impact.

The breakdown

The market's 78749 ZIP saw a slight decrease in days spent on the market for homes, while the 78745 ZIP saw an over 95% jump.


Most median home prices saw slight decreases or remained consistent from October 2023 to October 2024 across the market.


The year-over-year change in number of homes sold varied by each ZIP code, with 78736 seeing absolutely no change, 78745 decreasing by almost 35%, and 78735 increasing by 70%.


In October 2024, a plurality of homes sold in Southwest Austin and Dripping Springs were in the $500,000 to $699,999 price range. This is different from last month, in which a plurality of homes sold in the market were in the $300,000 to $499,999 price range.
