Of the eight Southwest Austin-Dripping Springs ZIP codes, exactly half sold more homes in September compared to last year, while the other half sold fewer homes, according to data from the Austin Board of Realtors.

Median home prices were also mixed in the market, but the average number of days that homes stayed on the market remained mostly consistent across all of the ZIP codes.

Four of the ZIP codes in the market, including the sole Dripping Springs ZIP code, 78620, sold more homes compared to last year. The other four Southwest Austin ZIP codes sold fewer homes.

Sales in 78745 were up the most year over year by nearly 70%, while sales in 78620 were down the most by just over 43%.


Median home prices in the market were mostly down. Median prices in 78737 dropped from just under $900,000 to $730,000.


However, median prices in 78736 jumped over 66% year over year, going from $490,000 to $816,000.


Homes in every ZIP code in the market—with the exception of 78739—sat on the market for several days longer compared to last year. In 78739, homes sat for about a week less.
