The city of Dripping Springs grew by 3,507 people from 2010-19, according to the most recent data released by the U.S. Census Bureau on May 20. The bureau estimated Dripping Springs’ 2019 population as 5,708, compared to its 2010 population of 2,201.

The following chart shows how population has increased over the past 10 years. Most of the growth has occurred since 2014.

Growth continues in the city's extraterritorial jurisdiction as well. According to the most recent data available, the number of people living within the larger Dripping Springs-Wimberley Census County Division in western Hays County has increased by 3,939 people from 2013-18, and stood at 40,845 in 2018.


Between 2010-19, Austin went from the 14th largest city in the U.S. to the 11th largest and added more residents than all but four American cities, according to the data, reaching a population of 978,908 residents on July 1, 2019. More Austin data can be found here.

The city of Sunset Valley has seen slight growth over the past 10 years, increasing from 650 to 672, according to the May 20 data.
