Additionally, 46 new COVID-19 patients were admitted to hospitals in the Austin Metropolitan Area. The seven-day moving average of daily admissions has dipped to 39.9, which puts the local area into consideration for a downgrade to Stage 3 risk. However, officials currently still classify Austin's risk as Stage 4.
As of July 30, 355 Austin MSA residents are hospitalized with COVID-19, with 131 of them in intensive care units. 266 Travis County residents have died from the illness, including two in the past day.
