Austin Public Health confirmed 278 new coronavirus cases in Travis County on July 30, bringing the county's total over the course of the pandemic to 20,465. An estimated 18,044 have recovered from the virus.

Additionally, 46 new COVID-19 patients were admitted to hospitals in the Austin Metropolitan Area. The seven-day moving average of daily admissions has dipped to 39.9, which puts the local area into consideration for a downgrade to Stage 3 risk. However, officials currently still classify Austin's risk as Stage 4.

As of July 30, 355 Austin MSA residents are hospitalized with COVID-19, with 131 of them in intensive care units. 266 Travis County residents have died from the illness, including two in the past day.
