Austin Public Health reported 558 new coronavirus cases June 30. The new cases make the total cases the county added in June 6,265, about 65.8% of all cases reported locally since the pandemic began in March.

Overall, there have been 9,527 coronavirus cases in the county, with 6,560 estimated recoveries and 124 coronavirus-related deaths, according to Austin Public Health. There are an estimated 2,843 active cases in the county currently.

June 30 also brought 67 new coronavirus hospitalizations in the Austin metropolitan area, according to Austin Public Health.

With the seven-day moving average in the metro currently at 55 new hospitalizations per day, the average has increased by 44.6 over the past month. The moving average stood at 10.4 hospitalizations per day on June 1.
