For the first time, Travis County reported over 100 new coronavirus cases in a single day.

Data by Austin Public Health shows there were 118 new cases June 8, as well as a new coronavirus-related death.

The new cases bring the total in the county since mid-March to 3,815. There have also been 3,098 estimated recoveries in that time, meaning there are an estimated 619 active local cases.

Current hospitalizations in the Austin metropolitan area are at 89, and hospitals have had an average of 88.8 coronavirus patients over the past week.
