One day after Travis County reported its most confirmed coronavirus cases in a single day, the county saw one of its most deadly days, with three new coronavirus deaths May 26.

The deaths bring the county’s total fatalities during the pandemic to 88.

The 51 new confirmed cases in the county bring the total number to 2,984, and the county is likely to eclipse the 3,000 case number May 27. There have also been 1,040 reported recoveries in the county.

There are currently 93 hospitalized coronavirus patients in the Austin metropolitan area.
