Travis County health officials reported five new coronavirus-related deaths May 11, bringing the total number of deaths in the county caused by the pandemic to 65. Additionally, there were 44 new cases of the coronavirus in the county, bringing the county’s total to 2,171.

In the county, there have been 720 individuals who have reported recovering from the coronavirus, about 33.2% of all cases.

Gov. Greg Abbott announced orders May 11 to test all Texas nursing home residents and staff members for the coronavirus, an effort to protect vulnerable populations.
