The city of Dripping Springs will take over operations of the Dripping Springs Visitors Bureau, which will vote to transfer operations after the Songwriter’s Festival taking place Oct. 20-22.

The details

City Council voted to approve an agreement to transfer operations of the visitors bureau to the city during a meeting June 6.

The Dripping Springs Visitors Bureau is a nonprofit organization with a board of directors. After the disposition of all funds, the board will vote to dissolve the nonprofit by Dec. 31. All assets, including property and records, will be transferred to the city.

During the transition of operations, Pam Owens, retired president and CEO of the visitors bureau, will manage the Songwriters Festival, and Treasurer Bonnie Humphrey will assist with the transfer of accounting.

The taking over of the visitor’s bureau comes two months after Owens retired at the end of March and was honored by City Council.
