The Local is the first restaurant locally owned by husband-and-wife duo Nate and Tiff Wales.

The couple said that their last name, Wales, comes from the United Kingdom, noting that the restaurant name was inspired by their Welsh spirit. Tiff noted that "the local" was a buzzword for a favorite spot or a neighborhood place.

"We want to be the community's 'local,'" Tiff said.

The restaurant offers scratch-made biscuits, classic American sandwiches, burgers and more. The Local also serves cocktails and has a full wine bar.
