Jabz Boxing is projected to open its first Austin location at 5300 S. MoPac, Ste. 502, Space 9, Austin, in August.
This will be the first of four Austin locations, owned by locals Adam and Becky Biehler.
“Almost five years ago, I gave up drinking and got back into fitness, and it changed my life,” Adam said of wanting to open Jabz Boxing in Austin. “My journey getting back into health and then realizing how much that impacted other areas of my life, it's been a lot of forward progression of finding new things and new ways to grow.”
Jabz Boxing offers boxing-inspired fitness classes that incorporate kickboxing, cardio agility and strength training.
“It's still, generally speaking, a relatively new type of workout, but it's fun, and it's really effective,” Adam said.
During a workout, patrons can utilize Jabz K.O, a punch tracking technology that helps the user keep track of their workout and can showcase speed, number of punches, efficiency and power.
Jabz Boxing began franchising in 2013 with studios across Arizona, Florida, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and more to come in Texas and Georgia.
“We're excited to be able to be in the community and be having an impact,” Becky said. “I just feel like it's a great thing to be able to be a part of people's lives in a positive way where they can come in; maybe they've had a bad day or a bad week or just not feeling great, and they leave feeling better.”
