Court grants nonprofit's motion in lawsuit with utility company for overpumping in Hays County




A federal court granted a nonprofit organization's motion to intervene in the ongoing case Aqua Texas Inc. vs. Hays Trinity Groundwater Conservation District on Sept. 23. The federal lawsuit claims the Hays Trinity Groundwater District exceeded its authority and unfairly and unlawfully assessed the utility company Aqua Texas with excessive fines.

Ticket sales for Austin Trail of Lights' 60th year opens

Tickets for the time-honored Austin tradition of strolling through the Trail of Lights, a Christmas light installation held at Zilker Park for two weeks during the holiday season, are now on sale as of Oct. 1. This is the 60th year that the Austin Parks and Recreation Department will organize its light display, with many parts of the installation sponsored by local businesses.

Eppright Homes joins Bee Cave in fight against distribution center

San Antonio City Council approves contract for SA Kids BREATHE asthma program

San Antonio City Council approved a contract for consultative services with The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio for the Metropolitan Health District’s SA Kids BREATHE asthma program. The contract approves a $20,000 agreement with The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, which will run from Oct.1 to Sept. 30, 2025, with the option to renew for two one-year terms for a total amount of up to $60,000.
