The following events located throughout Austin and San Antonio will honor those who served in the United States armed forces this November. This list is not comprehensive. Events are subject to change.

San Antonio area

Veterans Day Parade

The United States Military Veterans Parade Association will honor veterans and active members of the armed forces with the San Antonio Veterans Day parade downtown. The parade will feature decorated floats and local organizations, as well as middle school and high school ROTC programs. The parade route will start at Milam Park and will travel down Houston Street.

SA Veterans Day at Hemisfair

The fourth annual event will honor veterans with entertainment and activities for families. There will be organizations and businesses offering resources and services.

Veterans Day Parade-Universal City


The Greater Randolph Area Veterans Council will have its annual Veterans Day parade. The parade is a continuous tradition of over 50 years. The route runs down Pat Booker Road, between Universal City Boulevard and Byrd Boulevard.Veterans Day Parade-New Braunfels

Heroes & Hot Rods Veterans Day Cruise In & Car Show-Bastrop


The 18th annual event will benefit local and central Texas veteran support organizations with a classic car cruise Nov. 8 followed by a car show Nov. 9. There will also be a kids activity area, vendors, a silent auction and more.Veterans Day Flyer-Cedar Park

The Austin Steam Train Association will honor veterans and active duty members with a free ride on the Bertram Flyer. The vintage train car will take passengers on a 3 1/2-hour round trip.

Veterans Day Ceremony-Georgetown

The public event will honor veterans and active duty military members at Veterans Memorial Plaza. There will be remarks from Command Sergeant Major Michelle L. Thompson. The Georgetown High School band and orchestra will provide music beginning at 10:45 a.m.Veterans Day Ceremony-Leander

A ceremony will be held to honor those who served in the United States armed forces at Veterans Park. There will be an honor wall of veteran’s names, keynote remarks.THE Veterans Day 5K-Pflugerville


The event will show appreciation for the men and women who have served in the United States military. THE Veterans Day 5K will also collect toys for Toys for Tots for the Round Rock Area Serving Center to assist families in need during the holidays.Austin Veterans Day Parade

The parade will have 64 floats and vehicles from 29 organizations. The parade will start at Congress Avenue and end at the Texas Capitol with a ceremony to honor those who have served.Vets & Pets art exhibit

AVAFest, a nonprofit initiative that supports veterans, will host an exhibit from veterans and the pets that inspired their art.

An art show will be held at Patriots Hall of Dripping Springs to honor veterans and their families.Veterans Day Parade-San Marcos


The city of San Marcos and the Veterans Affairs Advisory Committee will host its annual parade to honor those who served. The parade will begin on Hopkins Street and will travel toward the Hays County Courthouse.Buda Veterans Day Parade & Honor Ceremony

The event will honor local veterans. The parade will start at 9 a.m. followed by a ceremony in front of Historic Buda Elementary School at 9:45 a.m. Registration is required to receive a free breakfast from 8:30 to 10 a.m.
