House of Torment

Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group’s House of Torment will open for the season on Friday the 13th. This year’s haunted house will introduce three new themes: The Arrival, Torment '99 and The Abandoned. Additional attractions include mini escape games, axe throwing, a zombie simulation and a secret bar. Hotel Van Zandt will bring back this event for a second year with flash tattoos by Tiny Tats ATX, tarot readings by Mak Jagger and tequila poured by Tequila 512. A tattoo can also give guests a free cocktail at Brass Poppy, Hotel Van Zandt’s new first-floor cocktail bar and lounge.‘Friday The 13th Part VI: Jason Lives’

Alamo Drafthouse’s Cinema Village, Lakeline and Slaughter Lane locations will host a screening of the 1986 movie "Friday The 13th Part VI: Jason Lives." The Lakeline location will also host Vorhees a Jolly Good Fellow, a “Friday the 13th” talk-comedy show from the hosts of Alamo Drafthouse’s Master Pancake Theater.

‘Young Frankenstein’

This Friday the 13th will mark opening weekend for the Bastrop Opera House’s production of "Young Frankenstein." The show, adapted from actor and director Mel Brooks’ 1974 film of the same name, follows Frederick Frankenstein, the grandson of the original mad scientist Victor Frankenstein, and the inheritance of his family’s Transylvanian estate.

Paranormal Friday the 13th at Triple Six Social

San Marcos’ gothic cafe and boutique will have all-day free admission to its on-site museum, the Parapeculiar Museum of Haunted Items, a lecture with the museum’s curators, an artisan night market, psychic readings and a limited-time drink.
