Co-owned by chef Gianbattista “Gianba” Vinzoni and actor and comedian Tom Segura, Ciccio Bomba is now serving Italian baked goods at Fareground.

The details

The Italian bakery has become part of Fareground’s culinary scene with eateries including Desnudo, Four Brothers, Golden Boy, JABS Burgers & Fries, Rôtisserie and Shawarma Point.

The new space highlights Italian culture through traditional pastries with handcrafted cornetti, focaccia, artisan breads, seasonal pastries, savory options and more.

“Ciccio Bomba is a celebration of the flavors I grew up with—simple, beautiful, handcrafted Italian baking made with pride and patience,” Vinzoni said. “Fareground felt like the perfect home to share this tradition with Austin, a community that truly values quality, creativity and authenticity.”

Some background

Gianba’s introduction to cooking was unexpected as he transitioned into the career after serving for five years as an Italian Navy Seal with no prior chef experience, as stated in a news release.

After climbing the industry ladder, Gianba became head chef at Soho House West Hollywood and executive sous chef at The Beverly Hilton where he cooked for the Golden Globes award show for three years.
