Chefs Ian Thurwachter and Krystal Craig have found a new home for Poeta, a restaurant that boasts spins on classic Italian dishes.

What we know

Though the restaurant recently bid farewell to its space at The Frances Modern Inn, the duo has teamed up with 2 Dine 4 Hospitality in a move to take over what was formerly Swoop House in East Austin.

Housed in a 1930s "hidden gem," Poeta will serve dinner, desserts and drinks Thursday through Sunday, and will be available for hosting special events all week, according to a news release.

"We’re happy to share that Poeta is reopening in a beautifully designed new location within a few weeks. We look forward to everyone experiencing the same thoughtfully prepared food, and warm hospitality you know and love—now with more gardens to roam and great on-site parking. We look forward to welcoming you to Poeta’s new home," Craig and Thurwachter wrote in a statement.

Guests can expect a refreshed yet familiar menu, featuring the same dedication to fresh, seasonal ingredients and signature homemade pastas.

"The heart of Poeta remains the same," the restaurant group said in a statement.
