Mother’s Ruin, named after the mid-18th-century nickname for gin, is described as a "cocktail-meets-dive bar" in a news release. It will offer signature cocktails, beer, wines and food in the mixed-use development Centro. The bar will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m..
On the menu
The beverage menu features rotating cocktails alongside beer, wine and shots. The food menu will feature brunch items in addition to all-day offerings, including French Onion Soup Grilled Cheese, Mother’s Smashburger, Thai Brussels Sprouts and more.

"The culture in Austin and its love for great food, drinks and community make it a perfect fit for Mother’s [Ruin],” Mother’s Ruin co-founder TJ Lynch said in a statement. “We’re also excited to bring a new late-night option to the East Sixth neighborhood where everyone can enjoy great cocktails and awesome bar food from early until last call, every single day of the year."
