Austin-based burger stand P. Terry’s is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.

The background

The business was founded by Patrick and Kathy Terry to realize Patrick’s dream of creating a classic burger stand similar to the ones he grew up with, as stated on the company’s website.

The Austin-based chain opened its first location in 2005 on Barton Springs Road and South Lamar. The business now has 35 locations across Austin, San Antonio and Houston.

The business has not changed much over the years and continues to source fresh ingredients for its products from hormone- and antibiotic-free beef and chicken to Burbank potatoes cut in store, according to a news release.
