East Austin’s Lefty’s Brick Bar transformed into Rudolph’s Road House pop-up bar in early December.

The details

Rudolph’s Road House took over the bar and the adjoining Gin Bar located above Lefty’s. Gin Bar is temporarily closed aside from hosting Rudolph’s Road House.

Rudolph’s Road House is celebrating its second year this December. Lefty’s, which has been in Austin for five years, started the tradition in 2023.

On the menu

The pop-up bar includes 10 new holiday cocktails, including the Merry-Arita margarita, Snowy Irish Coffee with Mr. Black coffee liqueur, whiskey and cream, and a Jingle Juice vodka cranberry drink.

Some cocktails are also available to order without alcohol, such as the vegan North Pole Nog eggnog, and vegan Naughty or Nice specialty hot chocolate.

A Fire and Ice festive beer is also available on the menu.

Each cocktail uses holiday-themed mugs or glasses, from gingerbread and Santa-shaped mugs to glasses with seasonal messages.

Also of note

The bar is decked with festive decorations, such as a wall of holiday sweaters, a collection of nutcrackers and Santa figurines, ornaments hanging from the ceiling, inflatable characters and even a Barbie Christmas tree.

Some of the decorations were purchased second-hand from thrift stores around Austin, such as Goodwill and Texas Thrift, Lefty’s General Manager Kathryn Tomaka said.

The bar will host weekly events and happy hour discounts throughout the month.
  • Tinsel and Tarot Wednesdays, tarot card readings from Carly Fischer 7-9 p.m.
  • Not-So-Silent Night Saturdays, live music and DJ sets 8 p.m.-midnight
  • Daily happy hour, $2 off draft beers, $1 off wine 3-6 p.m.
Rudolph’s Road House will last through Dec. 31
