Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) is preparing for its city-wide takeover on Sept. 22, bringing over 700 local musicians and DJs to stages across Central Texas. This year marks HAAM’s largest event in over two decades, according to a news release.

The annual music festival is organized by HAAM to support affordable healthcare and essential services for local musicians, DJs and music teachers in the community. The organization was formed in 2005 to ease the financial burden for artists related to healthcare. Since then, HAAM has given over $215 million in services, including dental, hearing, vision and wellness.
The local impact
HAAM Day Music Festival is the world’s largest one-day, all-local music festival, according to a news release. This year, listeners can expect over 700 local musicians to play a cumulative 241 hours, or 10 days, of live music.
There are over 230 participating venues and businesses across the region, hosting more than 328 free, family-friendly concerts.
What to expect
The festival will be headquartered at the South Congress Avenue H-E-B, with music from 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Attendees can expect to see performances from Mariachi Corazón de Tejas, Love & Chaos, Brother Thunder and Andrea Daniela.
Other participating venues include Austin Visitor Center, Antone’s Nightclub, Radio/East and Scoot Inn. The festival has also launched several brand partnerships and promotions with local businesses like Tacodeli and Fast Friends Beer Co.
