Houston-based developer to break ground on new retail project in San Marcos

Trial over Project Connect financing back on track after appeals court review

Legal proceedings intended to cement the financing plan for Project Connect—Austin's proposed multibillion-dollar transit system—may be back on track. Project Connect's development has been gradually moving forward since Austin residents in 2020 approved the light rail and rapid bus network backed by new taxes.

Third Pflugerville H-E-B to open in November

Pflugerville's third H-E-B grocery store is expected to open this November, according to a news release. The store, located on the corner of SH 130 and East Pflugerville Parkway, is 127,000 square feet.

Travis County property tax rates set for upcoming tax season

Property tax rates can change annually, and residents of Travis County, like those in most counties, have their taxes set by multiple taxing entities. No matter where someone lives in Travis County, there are two taxing entities that apply to all properties: the Travis County government and the county's hospital district, Central Health. Both entities have approved tax increases for the upcoming year.

Texas State University is on the path to becoming a top-tier level research institution as officials look to receive R1 Carnegie classification by 2027. The R1 designation measures investments made by a university’s public and private sectors to support research conducted by faculty and students.
