Underdog, a Korean American-inspired restaurant and wine bar in the Bouldin Creek neighborhood, will have its last day of service on March 8.

Underdog owners Claudia Lee and Richard Hargreave announced the closure in a social media post. They also announced they, along with a new partner, will open a new neighborhood restaurant in Underdog's place, which will tentatively open in May, according to a news release.

“What began as a wine bar has revealed its true potential as a neighborhood restaurant,” Lee said in the release. “During our first year, we developed the concept for this neighborhood restaurant, originally envisioning it as a pop-up, but we knew we needed to wait for the right creative partner to execute the vision. Every dish we’ve served, every wine we’ve poured since then has been part of discovering this space’s identity."

Underdog opened in 2023 and offers Korean-inspired seasonal dishes and a natural wine list.

For its last week of service, Underdog will donate a portion of proceeds to the Pasadena Humane Society, a nonprofit organization providing care for animals affected by the California fires.
