The national swim school franchise opened its first Austin location at The Linc shopping center. Locally owned by husband-and-wife duo Prashanth and Menaka Krishnan, Big Blue Swim School offers weekly, year-round 30 to 45-minute swim lessons for children ages three months to 12 years old.Sammataro Sports

The Sammataro food truck, known for its “old-New York style pizza,” opened its first brick-and-mortar location, Sammataro Sports, off West 37th Street and Guadalupe Street. The menu will not only include the company’s renowned pizza, but also items such as hamburgers, wings, mozzarella sticks and meatballs. Postino WineCafe

The new wine cafe will open in the Bryker Woods neighborhood next year, offering wine, beer, cocktails and food. The Arizona-based brand recently opened its first Austin location on South Lamar Boulevard in November. Postino will be taking over what was previously Burger King.CityVet

Celebrating 10 years in business this January, the local practice provides therapy for teenagers, college students, groups, adults and other therapists in Austin. ATX Counseling was founded in 2015 by Kate Carmichael and has multiple therapists on staff.
