A university apparel shop with locations across Texas will open near The University of Texas at Austin campus this month and sell Longhorn apparel for men and women, accessories, gifts and more.

Tiger Lilly

A new event venue will open in the former home of Estelle's lounge. The three-story private event space will launch with some renovations. The project team will be selecting new food and beverage operators for Tiger Lilly's kitchen and speakeasy in the near future.Katz’s

The formerly shuttered Austin deli will return after owners and husband-and-wife couple Barry and Lisa Katz bought back the original building. The deli opened in 1979, expanded to Houston in 2000 where multiple locations are still open, and the original Austin location closed in 2011. Katz’s is known for their signature New York-style sandwiches.Relocations

Juiced Up


The juice bar is reopening in a new space in the center of downtown this fall. Juiced Up serves smoothies, acai bowls, toast and other drinks from its locations downtown and in Bee Cave. The new location will feature more seating space and fresh juicing on-site, and the eatery also plans to expand its community collaborations downtown.YTX Yoga

The yoga studio, which shares a space with Juiced Up on the east side of downtown, is relocating several blocks away. YTX offers in-studio and virtual classes for different styles of yoga and strength training as well as other workshops and teacher training sessions. Memberships and drop-in class reservations, as well as private lessons, are available.In the news

The Refugee Collective

The nonprofit is celebrating 15 years of employing refugees in a textile manufacturing studio and an organic farm. The organization was founded in 2009 by two Liberian refugees—Johnson Doe and Paul Tiah—and two American women—Meg Erskine and Sarah Stranahan—with the goal of providing community support to refugees resettled in Austin. On Oct. 27, The Refugee Collective will host a family-style dinner fundraiser to celebrate the anniversary.Closings


The Statesman

The restaurant and bar was open for a less than a year before it quietly closed, with online reservations and the phone line dark. The Statesman opened in January, offering American cuisine and cocktails.
