University Federal Credit Union, or UFCU, opened a new, full-service branch this month located within the 1000 building at the Austin Community College Highlands campus. The company said in a news release the new branch will support increased financial services for students, faculty and staff.

The new location re-enforces the credit union’s prior initiative to expand impactful financial opportunities with a $5 million scholarship endowment in 2022, which benefits ACC students.

“As someone who began my career at UFCU while attending ACC, I’ve developed a deep passion for the educational aspect of personal finance. I’m excited about this new opportunity to serve the ACC community at the Highland Campus,” UFCU Branch Manager Michael Redding said in a news release. “Shared knowledge truly leads to shared success, and I’m thrilled to be part of this journey as we work further to enhance educational opportunities and financial literacy for all.”

The credit union is a member-owned, not-for-profit financial organization with over 386,000 Members and $4 billion in total assets. The ACC Highland branch will be open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
