Editor's note: The story has been updated to reflect an update from Chalmers regarding the opening date. The new opening date is July 4.

The team behind Armadillo Den and Dainty Dillo—Cade Archer, Brett Berry, Josh Hazzard and Skylar Reeves—have partnered with fellow restaurateur Michael Covey to open the West Texas-inspired restaurant, bar and venue Chalmers.

The details

The new business is located in an old, refurbished Shell gas station with 3,000 square feet of interior space, and a 2,000-square-foot deck and outdoor area for live music. The interior features western design elements and decor.

"We're thrilled to be opening up our second restaurant in East Austin this year," Berry said in a news release. "Our inspiration for Chalmers was drawn from our experiences road-tripping through West Texas and stopping at roadside gas stations during fill ups. We wanted to bring a little West Texas and Hill Country to Central Texas, and we showcase that through the aesthetics and designs of Chalmers."

The menu includes country-fried steak tenders, cracked wings, a double quarter pounder burger and more. The drink menu will feature classics from Armadillo Den and Dainty Dillo.
