After sudden closures April 23 of all Foxtrot locations, the Chicago-based coffee shop and corner store may be making a comeback.

Foxtrot opened several locations in rapid succession throughout 2023:
  • 1804 S. First St., Austin
  • 4800 Burnet Road, Bldg. F, Austin
  • 301 W. Second St., Ste. 100, Austin
  • 2270 Guadalupe St., Austin
The Foxtrot Instagram account posted on June 6, with a caption that read "A new Foxtrot with some old friends. Coming soon." The business had locations in Chicago; Austin; and the Washington, D.C., area.

This comes about a month after the former parent company for Foxtrot, Outfox Hospitality, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Outfox Hospitality officials did not comment on the matter.

While it's unclear which locations will reopen, city officials confirmed the City Hall location will not. The Second Street store closed less than a year into its 10-year lease.

"The Financial Services Department is actively working to put the space back on the market and secure a tenant for this location," department spokesperson Kimberly Moore said.
