A cellular outage among several major providers has left many people without service on the morning of Feb. 22.

What's happening?

AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile customers began experiencing the problem around 3 a.m., according to the Down Detector website—which provides real-time outage reports.

Although all three providers are experiencing an outage, AT&T customers are reporting the most problems with nearly 75,000 without service as of 7:20 a.m.

What else?

Mobile phone users with iPhones are seeing "SOS" in their phone status rather than the usual "5G." According to the Apple Support website, this means the device isn't connected to a cellular network but can still make emergency calls to 911.

The AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile websites all have guides to help customers turn on Wi-Fi calling in instances such as this.
