The city of San Marcos—in partnership with Texas State University—is inviting the community to complete a transit study survey that will assist in the development of future transportation routes and support a public transportation system benefiting residents and visitors, according to a news release.

What you need to know

The study will give city and university officials an understanding of the community’s current needs and preferences to develop a more accessible and effective transit system. The survey will gather feedback relating to ride behavior, route efficiency, service gaps and overall satisfaction, the news release states.

The 10-minute survey is available online in English and Spanish at www.sanmarcostx.gov/bussurvey, and responses will be collected through Dec. 31.

What city staff is saying

Interim Transit Manager Alex Vogt said this was a “once in a decade” opportunity for residents to give their input.

“We want feedback from our community to ensure the service we provide is reliable, convenient, sustainable, and meets the evolving needs of all of our residents and visitors,” Vogt said in the news release.
