Mike Trimble—a former project director for engineering company HNTB—was hired as the city of Kyle’s new director of transportation and public works, according to a Jan. 2 news release.

With 20 years of experience in local government, Trimble will be responsible for city transportation services, including the planning and development of policies and programs while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. His official start date will be Jan. 13, according to the news release.

Some background

In his role at HNTB, Trimble provided leadership for transportation agency organization improvements, facilities planning, bond program development and interagency coordination initiatives for Hays and Williamson counties and the Texas Department of Transportation Capital Express Central Programs, according to the news release.

Trimble also served over 16 years as an executive with the city of Austin. He has experience in multimodal transportation programs, long-range planning and federal funding strategy development, the news release states.
