The city of Kyle is easing certain drought-related restrictions, according to a news release.

What residents should know

Kyle residents can now wash their vehicles at home using a handheld hose, pressure wash outdoor surfaces and water their foundations using a soaker hose once a week on any day, the news release states.

Restrictions that remain in place are as follows:
  • Watering with a hose and sprinkler, soaker hose, drip irrigation or automatic irrigation system is still limited to every other week on designated outdoor water use days.
  • Handheld hoses or watering cans may be used any day of the week between 7 p.m. and 10 a.m. Hoses must be equipped with a positive shut-off nozzle at the emitting end.
  • Using automatic fill valves to add water to outdoor swimming or wading pools, or ponds are not allowed.
What the city is saying

Kyle City Manager Bryan Langley said conservation efforts have allowed the city to lift some restrictions while being able to use water efficiently.

"We greatly appreciate the efforts of our residents in conserving water during the summer months, which have helped us navigate the ongoing drought conditions," Langley said in the news release.
