Hays County officials announced March 8 that all county offices will be closed April 8 due to a total solar eclipse.

In a nutshell

The eclipse is anticipated to bring an "exorbitant" amount of people to the county, especially to Dripping Springs and Wimberley, Hays County Judge Ruben Becerra said in a news release.

"In the spirit of public safety, I am authorizing closure for all county offices. Excepted from closure are offices that must provide public safety and employees designated as essential by their respective elected official or department head during the closing," Becerra stated in the news release.
