The city of Buda will host an open house at City Hall, 405 E. Loop St., on Jan. 31 from 6-7:30 p.m. for residents to learn about preliminary plans for the Main Street East Extension project and give feedback.

What you need to know

The project is part of the city’s voter-approved 2021 Buda Bonds Proposition A. The city plans on improving the existing Main Street “Gateway Corridor” from I-35 east to Firecracker Drive, according to a news release.

Improvements include:
  • Widening the existing roadway
  • Adding shared-use paths
  • Drainage upgrades
