Buda residents looking to get involved in their community have until Oct. 13 at 4 p.m. to submit applications for open board and commission seats as city officials have extended the deadline.

What you need to know

The city is accepting applications for the following boards and commissions:
  • Historic Preservation Commission
  • Main Street Advisory Board
  • Parks & Recreation Commission
  • Sustainability Commission
  • Buda Bond Oversight Committee
The Historic Preservation Commission advises the City Council on matters relating to heritage and historic preservation; the commission meets on the first Thursday of every month at city hall.

The Main Street Advisory Board reviews the policies, budget and goals of the Main Street program; the board meets on the second Wednesday of the month.

The Parks Commission advises the City Council on items regarding public parks and recreation program policies, rules and regulation; the commission meets on the third Wednesday of the month.


The Sustainability Commission advises the City Council on sustainable practices regarding the environment, social responsibility and economic development; this commission meets on the first Thursday of the month.

The Buda Bond Oversight Committee advises the City Council and city staff on matters relating to the 2021 bond.

Terms vary and can be viewed by vacancy here. Applicants must be residents of Buda, unless representation from the extraterritorial jurisdiction is needed.

Residents who apply should be on the look out for an appointment date with the city.
