With 57.7% of the vote, Tracie Wright-Reneau has secured the Democratic 207th Judicial District seat in the May 24 runoff election.

Challenger Mark E. Cusack only received 42.3% of the vote, or 10,776 votes, while Wright-Reneau received 14,697 votes.

Cusack and Wright-Reneau were the two candidates that received the most votes, over George Carroll and Charmaine Widle, though neither received more than 50% of the vote for the seat during the March 1 primaries, triggering the runoff election.

Wright-Reneau will appear on the November ballot while no Democratic candidates filed for the seat, as previously reported by Community Impact Newspaper.

The 207th Judicial District seat covers Comal and Hays counties.
