With all precincts in Comal and Hays counties reporting, preliminary results show Tracie Wright-Reneau and Mark E. Cusack will advance to a runoff election for the Republican primary for the 207th Judicial District.

Wright-Reneau came away with 35.66% of the votes, while Mark E. Cusack followed with 30.44% of the vote; George Carroll had 21.59%; and Charmain Wilde finished with 12.30% of the vote.

Voters in Hays County favored Cusack with 5,202 votes compared to 3,230 for Wright-Reneau, 2,404 for Carroll and 2,130 for Wilde.


Wright-Reneau led in Comal County with 8,434 votes, while Cusack received 4,754; Carroll had 4,658; and Wilde received 1,894.

The state will hold runoff elections May 24 featuring the top two candidates who fall short of the 50% threshold in their respective Democratic or GOP primary.

Election results are unofficial until they are canvassed and certified.

Tracie Wright-Reneau has taken the lead in the Republican primary race for the 207th Judicial District with all Comal County precincts reporting and 35 of 40 Hays County precincts reporting.

Wright-Reneau has pulled ahead with 9,684 votes, or 35.78%. Mark E. Cusack follows with 8,309 votes, George Carroll has 5,661 votes and Charmaine Wilde has 3,413 votes.

Election results are unofficial until they are canvassed and certified.

With Comal and Hays counties reporting results from early voting and some election day precincts, Mark E. Cusack is leading the Republican primary race for the 207th Judicial District.

As of 9:30 p.m., 32 of 34 Comal County precincts and 13 of 40 Hays County precincts reported preliminary results.

The Republican winner of the primary election for the seat will advance to the general election in November, and no Democratic candidates filed in the race.

Cusack reportedly had 30.03% of 20,411 votes cast, while George Carroll had 20.29%, Charmaine Wilde had 12.55% and Tracie Wright-Reneau had 37.13%.
