With all precincts reporting, results show Marc McKinney with a landslide win in the runoff race for Kyle City Council, District 5 with 68.59% of votes, or 522 ballots.

His opponent, Melisa Medina, received 31.41% of votes, or 239 ballots.

How we got here

Runoff elections are held when candidates do not meet the majority vote requirement of 50% plus one vote.


During the Nov. 5 general election, Medina received 37.97% of votes or 1,169 ballots. McKinney received 35.3% of votes or 1,087 ballots, according to official voting results. The third candidate in the Nov. 5 election, Courtney Goza, received 27.04% of the votes and did not qualify for the runoff.
